Wren & Wild Clean Beauty — Part‑Time Shipping & Receiving Associate (Bend, OR)

Position Summary
We are hiring a reliable, detail‑oriented Part‑Time Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our small team. This role is responsible for receiving incoming shipments, accurately processing inventory, preparing and shipping outgoing orders, and maintaining an organized back‑room and stockroom. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable with repetitive tasks, and has experience with Shopify or other e‑commerce/shipping platforms (Shopify experience is a plus).

Location & Hours
- Location: Bend, Oregon (onsite)
- Part‑time: 15–20 hours per week (morning hours with occasional afternoons). 
- Hourly pay: competitive and commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities
Receiving
- Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Check shipments for damage, shortages, or incorrect items and report discrepancies promptly to management and vendors.
- Accurately log received inventory into the inventory system and/or Shopify (receive transfers, add new stock).
- Label, tag, and shelve merchandise in designated areas; rotate stock by date/batch when required.

Inventory Management
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with quarterly or annual inventories.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe stockroom; implement and follow proper storage procedures for fragile and temperature‑sensitive products.
- Monitor low stock levels and notify management or purchasing when replenishment is needed.
- Assist with product returns, vendor claims, and restocking returned items.

Order Fulfillment & Shipping
- Pick, pack, and prepare online and wholesale orders accurately and on schedule.
- Print shipping labels, select appropriate packaging, and apply proper packing protection to prevent product damage.
- Create and update shipping records in Shopify and coordinate carrier pickups and drop‑offs (USPS, UPS, FedEx or local couriers).
- Verify shipping addresses and resolve order or address issues before shipment.

Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure all shipments comply with carrier regulations and company packaging standards.
- Follow sanitation and safety protocols for handling beauty products (e.g., preventing contamination, following temperature/storage guidance).
- Maintain accurate documentation for returns, exchanges, and damaged goods.

Customer & Team Support
- Communicate professionally with teammates, management, and occasionally customers about order status, delays, or inventory questions.
- Assist in store operations as needed (e.g., restocking sales floor, merchandising, or answering phones during busy periods).
- Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce shipping errors.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks (lifting up to 30 lbs , standing, bending).
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory and shipping software.
- Ability to follow written & verbal instructions and work both independently and as part of a small team.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Shopify (admin, order management, and inventory functions) — preferred but not required.
- Prior retail, warehouse, fulfillment, or shipping/receiving experience.
- Familiarity with USPS/UPS/FedEx shipping platforms and label printing.
- Experience handling cosmetics, skincare, or fragile goods.
- Knowledge of clean beauty industry and product ingredients a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, stairs, reaching, bending, and lifting.
- Ability to lift or assist lifting boxes up to 50 pounds (use of carts and team lifts encouraged).
- Comfortable with routine light cleaning/organization tasks.
