Wren & "Wild Women" Series

Wren & "Wild Women" Series

As a mother-daughter-run business, Wren and Wild founders Mandy and Carly cherish the stories shared daily by the women who shop their boutique. They connect with their clients navigating the complexities of life – from motherhood and careers to caring for aging parents and prioritizing health and wellbeing – all while striving to live purposefully and with intention. Mandy and Carly know firsthand these paths aren't easy. They aim to simplify things for every customer by demystifying product ingredients and providing a fun, beautiful, friendly, and body-positive space where women can connect, shop, and feel truly beautiful in their own skin.

Capturing the spirit of their community, Wren and Wild teamed up with the talented photographer and dear friend, Julia Duke. Together, they created the Wren & "Wild Women" Series, showcasing the wonderful women they feel privileged to connect with each day.

Meet: Cara Naylor

Cara Naylor is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer who creates handmade pottery, surface pattern designs, and graphic design under the brand name Charlie November. Her earthy and natural aesthetic is evident in all her work and throughout her life, making shopping at Wren and Wild a seamless choice.

Discovering The World of Clean Beauty

A decade ago, while living in Rhode Island, Cara discovered a small clean beauty shop that had just opened near her home. Although she had limited knowledge about the beauty industry, her curiosity drove her to visit the shop frequently and engage in conversations with the owner. The owner, a former interior architect and a cancer survivor, shared her inspiring story with Cara. During her cancer treatment, she had discovered clean beauty and realized that many of the chemicals banned in building materials were still being used in beauty products—substances that we apply to our porous skin, allowing them to be absorbed into our bodies.

Your Clean Beauty Story

We asked Cara to share her own connection to using clean beauty. "I feel as though societally we have moved in a trend toward thoughtfulness about the food we consume - shying away more and more from products having long lists of ingredients we can't pronounce and heavily processed foods - and that we should be equally diligent in our assessment of beauty products! What we choose to put on our skin is as important as what we put in our mouths. This is especially pertinent as I am pregnant with our first child. With the plethora of information about what to consume and what not to consume, things to avoid, etc., it was an absolute no-brainer for me to double down on my dedication to a clean beauty routine for my health and the health of my baby. Living here in the high desert and often working with my hands in clay, I need a gentler facial cleanser, SPF for my face and a really hydrating hand cream! Truthfully, at this point, I would be lost without my Tammy Fender Cleansing MilkOdacite Tinted Spf and Berlin Skin Hand Cream from Wren & Wild - these would be my desert-island-you-can-only-have-three-product picks."

What do you love about Wren & Wild?

Soon after moving to Bend in 2016  I stumbled upon Wren & Wild. I was SO thrilled to see that I could find some of my favorite tried-and-true products and discover some new ones. When you go into the shop, it is immediately apparent how much care and attention has been taken selecting each of the products, and the staff is incredible at helping guide your shopping experience. Our community is lucky to have shops like Wren & Wild run by women who care.

Cara Naylor, it’s truly an honor to acknowledge you as a “Wild Woman.” Our community is lucky to have you! Thank you for choosing Wren and Wild.
